Summary

Fed.com is a recipe sharing website designed to support busy users as they develop their cooking skill and entertain guests.

Many features of the site set it apart from the traditional recipe website including

  • Remembering user favorites
  • Knowing user skill set
  • Supporting skill building
  • Suggesting fitting recipies - by skill level, rating, social networks, etc
  • Providing social networking
  • Adapting to user needs - quantities, substitutions
  • Helping to build a user's social identity
  • Relating the recipe to other user concerns

The site design and included features were directly informed by extensive field research and analysis of user mental models when finding recipes.
